Cabaret

Bruce is a member of The Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs.
He is known for creating intimate and personal cabaret performances which he writes
and arranges himself.

Dow also teaches Cabaret Performance and Cabaret Creation, directs cabaret, and helps
other cabaret artists with their own creation.

“Dow proves he can turn a song into an emotion-filled story and give it real personality.”
Jon Kaplan, NOW Magazine

“I’m used to hearing … these (songs) done bursting with ebullience, but awestruck is an important element, too, and the man has that down pat.  He can sound vulnerable, which some men are not willing to do.”
Rob Lester, Talkin’ Broadway

“The cabaret artform isn’t a popular one in Canada, partly because it’s such a challenge: strip away scenery, costume and character and you have no one to rely on but yourself – and your accompanist. But Dow is fearless.”
:John Terauds, The Toronto Star

What is more ridiculous than middle-age?  Certain experiences are expected, but we are truly prepared for none of them.  Aging parents, divorce, new love, starting again while in the middle of the journey?  Life as a clown, lost in a never ending vaudeville, faced with a series of show-cards – the show must go on – no matter what’s next!

Developed by Mr. Dow over years of presenting very personal cabaret experiences, A FUNNY PROPOSITION sold out & wowed audiences at both Stratford Summer Music and in Prince Edward County as part of the Festival Players 2018 season and again in the fall of 2019 at Korda Productions in Windsor, ON, and at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre in Toronto.
